It may be the summer holidays, but students will still be attending Woodham Academy and enjoying the excellent opportunities on offer.
From Monday 22nd July to Thursday 1st August, a selection of Year 6 students who are due to start at Woodham in September 2013 will be attending Summer School and participating in a selection of activities ranging from making sculptures in Art to enjoying some creative cooking and benefitting from expert PE coaching from Mr. Jon Tait, Woodham Warriors Head Coach.
The Summer School is part of Woodham’s highly successful transition programme which makes the move from primary to secondary school as straightforward as possible.
Woodham’s Head of Year 7 and Primary Transition, Tracy Tait, together with a team of specially trained Year 7 tutors will be working to ensure that the youngest children in the school are given the care they need to settle in quickly and to make new friends.
Summer Holiday Activity Programme
It’s that time again, the summer holiday activity programme at Woodham Academy from Monday 22nd July to Friday 2nd August, every day from 9.30 until 2.30.
The activities are open to all children from Reception to Year 7. The aim is to provide children with something fun to do over the holidays in a safe environment while developing skills and making new friends. Children will participate in a range of sports from football, trampolining, netball, basketball, cricket, handball, rounders, tennis, dodgeball, hockey, table tennis, badminton and more. This is the sixth consecutive programme, each growing in reputation and size. The programme will cater for up to 60 pupils.
Parents are welcome to stay. At the close of each day medals will be awarded for effort and behaviour and upon completing the programme every child will receive an Education Enterprise certificate to take home to award their contribution.
